Day 2 on The Road

Tonight, we are near Atlanta in Lithia Spring. We've had a great time so far, even on the road in the Armada. We spent last night in North Little Rock and woke to beautiful weather--very mild and not so humid. We ate yesterday at Interurban in Yukon, OK and at Cactus Jacks last night in North Little Rock. Lunch today was a quick stop at KFC in Tupelo, Mississippi, the home town of Elvis! Tonight we had some awesome BBQ at a locally-owned place: Wallace Barbecue, in Austell.

So far, the weather has been great, and we've seen lots of puffy white clouds, the likes of which we haven't seen lately in the panhandle. Also, there are these things called trees and rivers, which are everywhere on our trip! :). Yes, the Mississippi, but also just about every mile or so we'd cross a bridge over actual water.  The Coosa River, east of Birmingham, is such a great looking place to have a home and be on the water every day!

PreTrip Plans for the Week

Here's our itinerary for our road trip to Hilton Head Island, SC.

Leave Friday, June 28th around 6:30 and travel to North Little Rock.
Leave there Saturday and head for Memphis and a visit to Graceland.
Travel on to Atlanta and spend Saturday nit there.
Leave for HH Sunday, stopping in Savannah, GA along the way.

MONDAY, July 1
Parasailing at H2O sports in the a.m.
Explore the island, go to the beach, do some shopping, eat at a reggae club in the p.m.

TUESDAY, July 2
Jay and the boys golf at Port Royal in the a.m.
Shopping, the beach, tennis, and open time, and fireworks at the Harbour Town lighthouse in the p.m.

WEDNESDAY, July 3
All day at Charleston visiting Fort Sumter and Boone Hill Plantation and Gardens

THURSDAY, July 4th
Tennis, pool, open time in the a.m.
Deep sea fishing on "The Gullah Gal" in the afternoon
Fireworks at the Harbour Town lighthouse

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY
Explore the island, nature walk through Sea Pines and Pickney Island game preserve, and open

SUNDAY,  July 7th
Head for home, with one night in Memphis before arriving home Monday.
